Get in touch with your Things

Any object that can be attached to an Arduino microcontroller is a potential Things: get interaction in wireless or wired, acts automatically and is even remotely controllable from you smartphone or tablet.

Starts in three steps : get your building blocks, load Souliss and get your Things on the smartphone.

Mix Open Energy Monitor and Souliss

open energy monitor, souliss, android
Open Energy Monitor
One of the most interesting open-source project in the Arduino area is Open Energy Monitor, that monitor the energy use in your home using an hall-effect current transformer and AC/AC transformer for voltage monitoring. Is an interesting challange while calculating the phase between current and voltage to get real power consumption.

Antonino just managed the integration with Souliss, that is simply handled copying the measures for Open Energy Monitor in the Souliss's data area, then these information became available on Android and generally in your network. So you can decide action based on actual power consumption.

In the left side there is a preview of the power data over SoulissApp, more info and picures are available in the forum.

Stay tuned for next steps,

BlueStacks runs SoulissApp on your Desktop or Laptop

soulissapp, blustacks, android, windows, mac
SoulissApp runs on Lorenzo's MAC
Is long time that I was looking for a good way to emulate Android on my laptop and I wasn't able to find a pretty good solution running over millions of desktops until Lorenzo give us a tip.

BlueStacks runs Android over Windows and MAC, no special knowledge is needed, install and run it. There are no compatibility issue and also SoulissApp runs smoothly over BlueStacks, so your PC became an additional point of control for your things.

 Lets have a try!
